Juggernauts is s a televised extreme competition held at the Springfield Arena.
History[edit]
Juggernauts—officially promoted as "The Battle of The Really Strong"—was one of television's most intense competition programs, featuring a series of strength-based challenges designed to test endurance, agility, and survival skills. The show announced a four-week live event in Springfield, inviting anyone brave enough to compete against its famous Juggernaut athletes. Participants accepted the risk of injuries, including bruises, head wounds, bites, and possible fatalities.
The competition featured events held throughout Springfield, including Moe's Tavern Shove Fest, Dr. Marvin Monroe's Hop, Skip and Fry, Captain Lance Murdock's Skateboard Crash & Bash, Herman's Military Minefield Mayhem, The Krustyland Hammer Slammer, and The Kwik-E-Mart Doggie Dodge. Contestants had to earn enough prize money each week to continue in the competition, with larger rewards given for faster times, higher scores, and victories against the Juggernauts.
Among the show's most famous competitors were powerful athletes such as Chunky, Extra Chunky, Snarla, and Muscle-eena, who served as opponents in various events. The program became known for combining athletic competition with extreme hazards, including electrified obstacles, collapsing platforms, aggressive animals, and other dangerous challenges designed to showcase the strength of its competitors.
The Springfield event gained additional attention when Bart Simpson entered the competition, challenging the Juggernauts across several locations and attempting to prove himself against the show's strongest athletes.
