Marge read the Hansel & Gretel story in Beloved Children's Stories to Maggie.[1]
Four years earlier, Homer was reading Lisa Are You My Mother? Lisa became scared of the book's story and asked to read something else instead. Homer suggested Hansel & Gretel, which Lisa also decided against. She then realized that all of her children's books were scary.[2]
