Cool Rules! is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #43.
Synopsis[edit]
- Lisa is rejected from Sherri and Terri's Malibu Stacy fan club because she's not cool enough, so she tries different approaches to join the club.
Plot[edit]
Lisa hears about a Malibu Stacy fan club that Sherri and Terri have started from Janey and another girl, so she rushes into the house to get her Malibu Stacy doll so she can join the club. When Lisa gets to their clubhouse, Sherri and Terri reject Lisa because the club is for girls only. After Lisa points out that she is a girl, they change the sign to say "Cool Girls Only". Lisa storms off and decides to prove that she is cool.
Lisa puts on an outfit inspired by her Paree Stacy doll, but the twins reject her. She then puts on a Goth Stacy-inspired outfit, but is again rejected. Lisa then sees Sherri and Terri watching Bart and thinking he's cool, so she gives herself a makeover to look similar to Bart, but is again rejected. Lisa looks through the window of the clubhouse and sees Smithers in there and becomes annoyed since Smithers isn't a girl, although she's told that Smithers is cooler than her.
Lisa decides to design a new outfit for her Malibu Stacy doll so the other girls will think she's cool. She orders the fabric and sews a dress for her doll before leaving it outside the clubhouse and knocking on the door. Sherri and Terri see the doll and think the outfit is cool. When Lisa tells them that she designed the dress, Sherri and Terri leave instead of inviting Lisa into the club. When Lisa asks why they're leaving, they say that now they're not cool enough to be in the club.
