The Civil Defense Shack was an emergency broadcasting station located in the remote Alkali Flats of the Springfield Badlands.
History[edit]
During Springfield's television shutdown, Krusty the Clown used the facility to continue broadcasting through the Emergency Broadcast System, making it the city's only remaining television station. From the shack, he improvised a live comedy program, believing he would have the entire television audience to himself. After discovering the unauthorized broadcast, Sideshow Bob flew to the station in an attempt to destroy it by crashing an aircraft into the building. Krusty escaped moments before the impact; the attack failed, and Sideshow Bob was subsequently captured, ending the crisis.
