Betty's Beauty Barn is a beauty salon on Lasalle Highway that specializes in hair removal, hair extensions, and cosmetic makeover services.
History[edit]
Betty's Beauty Barn advertised its services in the Springfield Shopper, promoting hair removal treatments performed by Cissy after she returned from an electrolysis course in Capital City. The salon claimed the procedures were painless and enthusiastically performed. It also offered hair extensions made from flame-retardant Dynelle synthetic hair, attached to customers' scalps with hot glue, as well as a special one-week combination of hair tightening and beauty makeover for $14.99. The advertisement stated that only Hollywood Glamour cosmetics and spackling compound were used, featured Betty's slogan, "Tell your husband it's less than an oil change," and listed the salon at 1400 Lasalle Highway with an emergency telephone number of 555-HAIR.[1]
