Amalgamated Components is a components manufacturing company in Cheeverton owned by Clancy Wiggum. It appears in a story that Marge imagined when she thought about what life would be like if Homer were like the man from the 1950s film The Company Man.

History

At Amalgamated Components, Homer was giving a presentation to the board about why making the ashtrays bigger would increase productivity and efficiency and cost the company less. This was received well by the company's owner, Clancy Wiggum, although Wiggum sent him back to his normal desk job after the presentation. After work finished for the day, Homer got into an elevator with Barney Gumble. Barney told Homer that there was an opening for an executive position in optimization and that if he played his cards right, he could get the position and a key to the executive washroom. Barney then told Homer that he could seal the deal with their boss at his country club party the following day.

After Homer left the party early with Marge, Helen Simpson managed to get Homer the promotion and a key to the executive washroom. Despite having planned to run away to California with Marge, Homer took the promotion and went back to work at Amalgamated Components.
