The Shelbyville Zoo is a zoological park in Shelbyville.
History
After infiltrating a group of Shelbyville children while searching for Springfield's stolen lemon tree, Bart Simpson accompanied them to the Shelbyville Bluffs, where they planned to paint a large anti-Springfield message visible from the neighboring town. Bart instead revealed his identity and painted a pro-Springfield slogan, "Springfield Rules Suckers!." The Shelbyville children immediately gave chase, prompting Bart to escape on a skateboard.
Racing through Shelbyville, Bart navigated a series of obstacles at the Shelbyville Construction Co. site, including barriers, a swinging wrecking ball, and a large pipe, while Shelby pursued him closely on another skateboard. The chase continued past the local Speed-E-Mart, Joe's Tavern, and Shelbyville Elementary School. Bart eventually lost control after riding into a patch of wet cement, forcing him to abandon his skateboard and flee on foot.
Seeking refuge, Bart ran into the Shelbyville Zoo and locked himself inside a tiger-feeding facility. Trapped among a series of rooms marked with Roman numerals and surrounded by enclosures containing tigers, he was forced to use his wits to find a safe exit while the Shelbyville children searched for him outside. He remembered Roman numerals from movie sequels and specifically thought about the Rocky films—realizing that “VII” meant Rocky VII as the seventh installment. Using that reasoning, he chose the correct door and escaped just in time, slipping out before the kids and the tigers could reach him.
