Jacob Flanders is Ned Flanders' Amish cousin from Pennsylvania.

History

When the Simpsons were on their way to New York City to find Lisa, their car broke down in Amish Country. They went to knock on the door of the nearest house, which turned out to be owned by Jacob Flanders. Jacob recognized their accent as a Springfielder accent and asked if they knew his ultra-liberal cousin Ned and said that Ned brought such shame to their family. Jacob helped tow the car using a horse-drawn carriage. When Homer asked to use the bathroom, Jacob stopped the carriage, and he and several Amish people came together to build an outhouse for Homer.

Later, Homer took Jacob to Springfield to show him Ned's house. When Ned said the word "diddly", Jacob became annoyed at Ned using the Devil's "diddly." Ned gave Homer a hug, and Jacob joined in hugging him.
