Doug is one of three nerds that Homer meets in college. He has reddish-orange hair and is the only one of the trio who doesn't wear glasses.

Homer gets him and his roommates Benjamin and Gary to play a prank on an enemy school's mascot, a pig named Sir-Oinks-A-Lot. They were to kidnap him and get him drunk. They got expelled for doing this and then stayed with the Simpsons. Here, they got on the whole family's nerves and when they eventually left, everyone was relieved.
