Muammar Gaddafi (1942-2011) was president of Libya from 1969 until 2011. He was then deposed and killed.

In The Otto Show, at a concert with Spinal Tap, people sell t-shirts with Spinal Tap kicking Muammar Gaddafi's butt.

Another Gaddafi reference could be seen in Das Bus, where Bart plays the UN representative of Libya and wears similar shades like Gaddafi wore.
