History

The Simpson family went to watch a world cup match in Springfield between Mexico and Portugal.

Homer was once the referee for Lisa's matches. Lisa watched a DVD of a World Cup game involving Brazil. The game got extremely violent and it was said that a statue of the Virgin Mary came to life and beat the holy snot out of the players. Ronaldo is a famous Soccer player who Homer has met.
