Smilin' Joe Fission is the official mascot of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and the Springfield Isotopes. He also stars in filmstrips shown to visitors at the Power Plant. He looks similar to the happy little elves. His pet peeve is to be mistaken with Ross Perot. He has been featured at other animated atomic films, such as "Atom and Eve: A return to Eden", "Why flesh won't fall off your face", and "Please don't eat the daisies near the recovery tank".
