History[edit]
While planning the Radioactive Man movie, the production team consulted Variety and reviewed advertisements for filming locations, including New York, Texas, Utah, and Springfield. After noticing Springfield's advertisement, they became interested in the town and decided to visit it as a potential filming site.[1]
An issue of Variety was seen at a newsstand that Homer and Apu were at.[2]
After Krusty's new talk show Krusty became a hit, he appeared on the cover of Variety.[3]
