History

After Bleeding Gums Murphy’s death, Lisa Simpson tried to honor his memory by getting his music played on the radio. She went to the local jazz station, KJAZZ, and asked the DJ to broadcast Murphy's album as a tribute. The DJ agreed but explained the station had a very limited broadcast range and little audience, meaning few people would hear it. Lisa then set out to find a copy of Murphy's album so it could be played on air.
