Bill Cosby is a comedian, author and TV show host.

When a yo-yo craze hit Springfield Elementary School, Bart proved to be very good at yo-yo tricks. Homer told Marge that soon he would be able to quit his job and "live off the boy", but Marge challenged him to name one person who had gotten rich by doing yo-yo tricks. After considering Cosby, Donald Trump and Arnold Palmer, Homer realized to his chagrin that there wasn't any such person.[1]
Bart and Homer were watching the final broadcast of The Cosby Show when a screen appeared displaying the program's title and its original run dates. Remembering the series, Homer remarked that Theodore Huxtable had grown up before their eyes. Bart then asked why the show was ending, and Homer explained that Bill Cosby had decided to stop producing it before its quality began to decline. Bart disagreed, saying that if he had a television show, he would keep it running for as long as possible regardless of its quality. Homer responded by expressing his approval of that attitude.[2]
Bill Cosby hosted the TV program Kids Say the Darnedest Things, where he used the kids' remarks as a springboard to doing his own standup comedy routines.[3] Cosby also had his own sitcom, The Cosby Show, on which Bleeding Gums Murphy made a guest appearance.[4]
Cosby and his family later auditioned to appear in The 1895 Challenge, a reality show where the cast would live as though the year was 1895. However, they lost out to the Simpson family.[5]
Bill Cosby is also the author of the book Fatherhood, a copy of which was given to Homer by the National Fatherhood Institute.[6] The same book is seen burning in a fireplace later on.[7]
The sign on the door of Second Hand Bros Clothing says that they're no longer accepting Cosby sweaters.[8]
Dr. Hibbert told Homer that he wanted to hear Homer explain episodes of Bill Cosby shows.[9]

Cosby's own TV show, The Cosby Show, was, for a few years, a competitor to The Simpsons.
