Alan is a pilot for Krazy Klown Airlines.

History

Krazy Klown Airlines was involved in an incident in which Homer Simpson was mistakenly allowed into the cockpit of one of its aircraft despite not being a pilot. The situation began after Homer entered The Little Black Box, an airport bar reserved for pilots, and falsely claimed to be part of a flight crew to obtain a drink and a uniform. Shortly afterward, airline staff urgently requested a pilot for a flight to Chicago and mistakenly escorted Homer onto the plane. While attempting to operate the aircraft alongside copilot Alan, Homer activated incorrect controls, causing the landing gear to retract prematurely and damaging the aircraft during takeoff preparations. After the incident, a Krazy Klown Airlines CEO privately met with Homer and offered his family free tickets anywhere in the continental United States in exchange for keeping the event secret, fearing that Krazy Klown Airlines would become “a laughingstock” if the story became public.
