He hit the game-winning grand slam in the game against the Shelbyville Shelbyvillians after Homer started dancing to cheer up the crowd. He was described by the stadium play-by-play announcer as "mediocre slugger".

Milhouse called McCloskey the Isotopes' "cleanup hitter."

He later hosted a baseball instructional video.
