Cultural references
- The episode title is a reference to the film Paranormal Activity.
- I'll Have What She's Having: Celebrity Face Menu is a reference to the punchline in the fake orgasm scene in the movie When Harry Met Sally..., and Meg Ryan's rumored plastic surgery.
- Coincidentally, the movie was directed by Rob Reiner, who died on the day the episode aired.
- The older women inject themself with Botox.
- A sign on Sprawl-Mart says "still not a parody of Walmart."
- Marge compares Lisa to The Ugly Duckling.
- Preparation XX is a parody of Preparation H.
- A poster in Dr. Hibbert's office says "Erectile rights are human rights", a play on the words of Hillary Clinton's slogan "Women's rights are human rights".
- Bart calls Homer Jubba the Butt, a reference to Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars.
