The Simpleton is a man who lived in Slobtown, Springfield in the 1980s.

History

When Joe Quimby and Beatrice Bouvier went to Slobtown to help Quimby's election campaign, they played the Pelt the Simpleton game, where Beatrice knocked him off the barrel he was sitting on. When Quimby agreed to try to be the best person he could be, the Simpleton told Quimby that it felt like real growth.

The Simpleton later attended the wedding of Quimby and Beatrice. He interrupted the kiss at the end of the ceremony to tell Joe that his father wanted to speak to him.
