- The plot of the episode is a reference to the recent Tipflation.
- Lisa says that Homer and Marge were "punking" them, and Bart says that they are getting "funk'd", a reference to the reality TV series Punk'd.
- During the check-ups at the Springfield Medical Plaza, the song "Price Tag" by Jessie J and B.o.B plays.
- Marge got a full back tattoo honoring Timothée Chalamet removed.
- The way Maggie puts on the sunglasses is a reference to the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation spin-off CSI: Miami and the Horatio Caine "sunglasses moments" cold opens in the show and the popular meme associated with it.
- Boba Fete Tea Shop is a reference to Boba Fett and it resembles the Mos Eisley cantina from Star Wars.
- In Aurebesh, the writing around the door translates to: "Easy Boba Fett pun".
- Mandalorian Mango Jango is a reference The Mandalorian and 3-CP-Oat is a reference to C-3PO.
- A picture of Jabba the Hutt is also on the wall.
- Homer seems to have a Mastercard credit card.
- TCBDIYY is a parody of TCBY.
- Homer steels himself with "Mexican courage", a parody of "dutch courage".
- Raphael calls the tablet for checking out an iPad.
- Homer says that he suffered "death by a thousand swipes", a reference to the torture and execution form "death by a thousand cuts".

- S.A.G. Awards, the Servers of America Guild Awards, is a parody of the Screen Actors Guild Awards and is modeled after the SAG-AFTRA headquarters.
- Two waitstaff parody the photograph V-J Day in Times Square by Alfred Eisenstaedt.
- When Homer says he wants to be judged not by the content of his character but by the content of his wallet he is parodying Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech wherein he says he looks forward to being judged not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character.
