History

When Homer asked Moe for a glass of water, Moe said that was the stuff that killed his grandmother.

Moe reminesces his mother teaching him Macedonian. Right after, Moe has a flashback of his grandmother telling him in Macedonian that he's useless, contributing nothing, and a leech.

Behind the Laughter

• The framed picture of Baba Branka having green skin and being killed by water is a reference to the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz.
• Her name, Baba, is short for babuskha, a nickname used in Slavic culture for one's grandmother.
