Trivia

  • This marks the first time since "Treehouse of Horror XI", that Matt Groening's scary name is completely different compared to the others he's previously had, in this case, "Splat Groening", which is a brand-new scary name.
    • The last time Matt Groening had a brand-new scary name was during the opening of "Treehouse of Horror XI", where his scary name was "Bat Groin Injury" at the time.
  • A Viewer Discretion Is Advised is shown for the first time, due to all the blood in the episode.

Continuity

Ei8ht

  • The segment has an alternate version of "Cape Feare", where Sideshow Bob finally kills Bart successfully, unlike the original episode where he gets arrested by the police before his attempt to kill Bart after he successfully distracts him.
    • At the begging of the flashback, it shows the date of October 7, 1993, which is the date the original "Cape Feare" episode was premiered.
    • The flashback was presented in 4:3 aspect ratio, but it was later changed to 16:9 (removing vertical black bars) when it presents events that never happened in the original episode.
  • Sideshow Bob mentions Lisa having split personalities from Multiplisa-Ty from Treehouse of Horror XXIX.
