 Rayshelle Peyton is a fourth grade teacher at Springfield Elementary School. Ms. Peyton was a teacher in Ghana for two years. However, she moved to Springfield because her husband, Darryl Peyton, got a new job as part of the Springfield Orchestra. Before she became the new fourth grade teacher at Springfield Elementary, Ms. Peyton stayed at the resort Paradiso del Mare. When Bart sneaked into the resort's pool, he got winded and started to drown. Ms. Peyton dived into the pool, still in her dress, and rescued Bart. Because Bart felt embarrassed about this, he yelled at Ms. Peyton and ran off. After this incident, Ms. Peyton referred to Bart as "angry drowning boy" in her head, since she didn't know his name. When Ms. Peyton introduced herself to the other teachers, she told them that she wanted to do project-based learning with the school. At first, the other teachers weren't interested, but Ms. Peyton then revealed that she had drawn up all the lesson plans they would need. When Ms. Peyton was introduced to Bart, she didn't recognize him, but Bart recognized her. Bart then started acting up toward her because he was feeling guilty about the way he acted toward her at the pool, and he had a crush on Ms. Peyton.  "My Octopus and a Teacher" is the eighteenth episode of broadcast season 33 of The Simpsons and the seven hundred twenty-fourth episode overall. It originally aired on April 24, 2022. The episode was written by Carolyn Omine and directed by Rob Oliver. It guest stars Kerry Washington as Rayshelle Peyton. After Bart finds out that his new teacher, Rayshelle Peyton, is the same woman who saved him from drowning, he struggles to handle his feelings toward her.  Molly is an octopus that Lisa saved and befriended while filming My Cephalopod Soulmate. When Lisa was making a film underwater as part of the Future Nature Documentarians, she found Molly and decided to film her. During the film, Molly was attacked by a shark and seemingly killed by it. However, Lisa actually saved Molly from the shark, with the shark only biting off one tentacle. Lisa then took Molly home with her, while she ended the film with Molly seemingly being killed because they weren't allowed to interfere with nature. After showing off her film at the festival, Lisa and Molly started to spend time together. However, Molly liked to escape and cause trouble around the house, using the pipes to get around. This led to Lisa getting an octopus-proof tank, which Molly still managed to escape.
