Waylon J. Smithers, Sr. is Waylon J. Smithers, Jr.'s dad. He died of radiation poisoning . After his death his corpse was disposed of by being placed down a drainage pipe because Burns said that funerals were too expensive, it is later discovered by a young Homer while swimming in a pond which terrified him, he later remembered this incident many years later and caused him to scream for several days, after investigating it he discovers the skeleton and Bart shows the skull to Mr. Burns whom tells the story of his heroic death and Smithers finally finds out the truth because Burns had told him his father had been killed by Amazon women, after wards Homer takes the skull and places it in his memory box.
