Richie Sakai is an anesthesiologist.

History

Sakai was among the Moe's Tavern customers listening to Homer tell his story of being a mascot for the Springfield Isotopes.

He sang in the karaoke bar at the Happy Sumo restaurant. He sings "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves" which he dedicates to his wife, Pattie.

He later appeared in Sideshow Bob's campaign ad as one of the convicts escaping from the revolving door prisons.

He is mentioned in a long list of jazz musicians. He plays the vibraphone.

He is modeled and named after long-time producer Richard Sakai, but he is voiced by Dan Castellaneta.
