SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television program created by former marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg. It has been airing since May 1, 1999 on Nickelodeon. The two series have referenced each other numerous times.

Picture Season Episode number Episode name Reference 14 301 "Pray Anything" The chalkboard gag of this episode says: "SpongeBob is not a contraceptive". 304 "A Star Is Born Again" Ned Flanders says that Sara Sloane's movie is starting to get like "SpongeBob NoPants". 16 339 "She Used to Be My Girl" He was among the people Lisa Simpson prayed to after she was caught in a volcano eruption. He was then later seen in heaven alongside Jesus and Buddha, whom Lisa had also prayed to. SpongeBob said that they should just let Lisa die, and proceeded to laugh menacingly. 340 "Fat Man and Little Boy" Krusty the Clown once promoted T-shirts that depicted "ScratchBob ItchPants", among various other shirts related to The Itchy and Scratchy Show. 18 388 "The Wife Aquatic" A statue of SpongeBob was seen at a visitors center at Barnacle Bay museum. The statue was part of an exhibit called "The Science of SpongeBob". Patrick Star, the starfish, also appears as one of molluscs photos. 21 445 "Treehouse of Horror XX" Frankenstein dresses up as SpongeBob. Later, SpongeBob told the Simpsons he was secretly very evil. 22 468 "Treehouse of Horror XXI" The episode director Bob Anderson was credited as "Sponge Bob Anderson Pants". 478 "Angry Dad: The Movie" Bart Simpson mentions SpongeBob when he claims he likes cartoons. He says: "I've always loved cartoons, going way back to the real early SpongeBobs". 25 537 "Yellow Subterfuge" When Krusty asks to Lisa if could sell foreign rights to your show, Lisa says that even SpongeBob did it. And she shows him an Italian parodied version of SpongeBob SquarePants on her tablet called "Spugna Roberto Quadrati Pantaloni". In the show, Spugna Roberto (a parody of SpongeBob SquarePants) gives a gift to Squiduardo Calamari (a parody of Squidward Tentacles) for his birthday and says that the gift is a mine from World War II. Then, a seahorse presses the button which makes that the mine explodes and kills Roberto & Squiduardo in pieces. Then, a fish appears and says: "Calamari?", screams: "No...!" and starts crying. In the parody, Roberto lived in a watermelon under the sea. Actually, SpongeBob lives in a pineapple also under the sea in the original TV animated series from real world. 550 "Brick Like Me" Comic Book Guy says that Bart's giant robot is made out of Batmobile, Hobbit hole and SpongeBob LEGO play-sets. 30 645 "Treehouse of Horror XXIX" When a man tells Homer that he will be sacrificed to an evil god from the ocean's depths, Homer asks if he means SpongeBob.
