Production
In September 2013, it was announced by show-runner Al Jean that the episode would serve as a direct sequel to the twenty-third season episode "Holidays of Future Passed." It was also revealed that Parks and Recreation star, Amy Poehler, would guest star as Bart's future ex-wife, Jenda, who was previously voiced by Poehler in "Future-Drama." [2]
Al Jean also disclosed that the episode is set 30 years on from 2014 (2044) and that, "Bart is trying to get over his divorce and he does it in a bit of a Total Recall-type way. I won’t give away what happens, but that’s a clue." [2]
