The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music is a 1965 musical film starring Julie Andrews. It was originally based on a 1959 Broadway play by Rodgers and Hammerstein.

A poster of the film is on the wall of Planet Springfield 18 392 "Yokel Chords" When Lisa gets told she can be a tutor, she dances on a hilltop similar to the opening sequence of the film and when she introduces herself, Cletus' children walk forward and state their name (a reference to Maria's introduction to the children). Some of the songs they sing are based on songs from the film, including the song performed by Superintendent Chalmers and Principal Skinner, which is inspired by "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" Lisa sings part of a song resembling "The Sound of Music", and later while showing the children the culture of Springfield sings a song based on "My Favorite Things." 32 689 "The 7 Beer Itch" Carl compared The Sound of Music scene where all the Nazis sang good night to the moment Lily sang "Lili Marleen" at Moe's Tavern. 33 723 "The Sound of Bleeding Gums" The title is a reference.
