The park engineer is an engineer of Itchy & Scratchy Land.
History
The Simpson family visit the ride Tavern on the Scream when they were in Itchy & Scratchy Land}. The engineer greeted them, calming Marge's fears, but when she shows her doubts, he escapes the scene.
He later assured Marge that the animatronics will never attack people.
Lastly, he told Cletus to not take flash photography of the animatronics.
