Joseph Turner also know as J. M. W. Turner was a British landscape painter.
History
When Homer and Marge was at the Springsonian Museum they watching a painting by Turner and Marge told Homer at in an era when everyone else painted portraits, he broke away by painting the Venetian canals. That gave Homer the idea of The Grand Canals of Springfield.
