R.E.M. were an American alternative rock band. They voiced themselves in the season 13 episode "Homer the Moe". The band split up on September 21, 2011.
In "Homer the Moe", they sung their song "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)". Their song "Everybody Hurts" was used in the season 17 episode "The Last of the Red Hat Mamas".
