Whilst playing basketball at the new sports centre Homer badly injures his leg, after having it fixed up but still inuseable he becomes bored with staying at home. When Flanders requests he babysits for Rod and Todd, Homer accepts having nothing else to do, but he finds he rather enjoys their company and they his. He decides to start up a daycare and gets many new clients, but Bart and Lisa feel neglected. They try a few ploys to tug at his heart strings but they fail. Eventually Homer is nominated for an award, for most caring person, but Bart and Lisa sabotage his footage with home videos of Homer attempting to "mace" Bart. Homer panicking that his daycare children will be taken from him, kidnaps them.
Cultural and Inside References
- When Ralph asks where they are going, Homer's reply is "For some frosty chocolate milkshakes." This is a reference to his old infamous catchphrase.
- When Homer is watching TV, the show "Kids Say the Darnest Things" stars Bill Cosby. Plus, a kid on the show replies to Cosby's question "What do you like to play?" with "Pokemon."
