History
Britney Spears co-hosted the Springfield Pride Awards along with Kent Brockman. To Brockman's consternation, the audience was far more interested in Spears than in him, as evidenced by their applause.
Spears accidentally killed Cornelius Chapman by kissing him on the cheek after presenting him an award for being Springfield's oldest citizen. After Chapman expired, Mr. Burns was found to be the new oldest citizen in Springfield, thus earning the award by default. Spears presented Burns the award and was about to kiss him as well, but he stopped her, fearing the "kiss of death".
