- The level is a parody of the Medal of Honor series of video games.
- The Battle of Kasserine Pass was a series of engagements which took place from 19–24 February 1943 as part of the Tunisian campaign.
- In Kasserine Pass, Abe can say "Jumpin' Jimmy Stewart, there's another gun!"
- Aboard the U.S.S. Reel Crazy, Smithers can say "Tell it to the Andrews Sisters."
- After Burns is defeated, he says "Rosebud... is a cliché," a reference to Charles Foster Kane's dying word in Citizen Kane.
