Cultural references

• The teachers sing a parody of "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner.
• The House of Sci-Fi-Mystery has a poster for the film C.H.U.D.
• Cornelius Morgan directed the 1967 Radioactive Man movie, based on the camp television show. This is a reference to the 1966 Batman film, which was based on the 1960s Batman TV series.
  • A scene from the Radioactive Man film features Radioactive Man running around with an atomic bomb, referencing the famous bomb scene from the film.
  • Radioactive Man and the cast members perform "The Radioactive-atus", a parody of the Batusi dance.
• Cornelius Morgan directed an episode of Sliders.
• The Moon landings are supposedly faked by NASA.
• Ham suggests having a Dungeons & Dragons-style quest to prove they're the biggest nerds.
• Otto reads a book by J. R. R. Tolkien.
• When a tire from the school bus comes through the window of the Krusty Burger, the Squeaky-Voiced Teen tells the Superfriends to take the tire to the Flaming Mountain of Tires, for only there can it be destroyed, a reference to the One Ring only being able to be destroyed in Mordor in The Lord of the Rings.
  • When Barney mentions that the cheeseburger gave him gas, the Squeaky-Voiced Teen holds up a mop and says "It shall not pass!", referencing Gandalf the Grey's line "You shall not pass!" during his fight against the Balrog.
• Comic Book Guy's cat, Comicachu, is designed and named after Pikachu from Pokémon.
• Professor Frink uses The Mononizer to merge the Dune novels Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune into one book, the Big Book of Dune.
• Professor Frink used his Mononizer on the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The new singular film features Princess Leia telling Obi-Wan Kenobi that he's her only hope and that Darth Vader is her father, Han Solo telling Luke Skywalker that he's frozen in carbonite but then is thawed out immediately, and Luke saying that he blew up all the Death Stars.

• A nerd exclaims "Sweet Jonathan Frake's beard!" Frakes played William Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
• After his mansion gets blown up, Cornelius Morgan says "You blew it up! You maniacs! Damn you! Damn you all to Hell!", referencing the famous quote from Planet of the Apes when George Taylor (Charlton Heston) sees the destroyed Statue of Liberty and realizes that he's on Earth.
