The salesman was serving Morty Szyslak, offering him a shirt with an octopus on the back, when Marge came in to speak to Morty about Moe, Marv, and Minnie Szyslak. When Morty realized that things had gotten so bad between his children, he threw the shirt at the salesman and walked out.
