John "Bong" Devito appeared in the "Family Matters" section of the Springfield Shopper in a marriage announcement. On March 12, he married Mary Spencer at The Rusty Scupper. According to the announcement, Devito had previously played relief outfield for the Springfield Little League and was working as a substitute delivery driver for Burning Tongue Ice Cream at the time of his marriage. His wife, Mary Spencer, was employed as a shampooer/sweeper at Betty's Beauty Barn. After the wedding, the couple honeymooned at the Adult Video Motel on Route 7.
