Alphonse was Krusty the Clown's ventriloquist dummy.
History[edit]
In an attempt to compete with the rising popularity of Gabbo and his show, The Gabbo Show, Krusty decides to put on a ventriloquist act with Alphonse on The Krusty the Clown Show. However, the performance quickly falls apart when Alphonse's creepy appearance unsettles the audience. Just moments into the act, Alphonse's jaw falls off, scaring the young kids watching. Krusty tries to reassure them, jokingly saying, "He's dead," but only makes things worse. In frustration, he accidentally smashes Alphonse's head and kicks the battered dummy toward the already horrified crowd.
