Temperance Barrows is the main character in the romance novel The Harpooned Heart by Marge Simpson. She is modeled after Marge.
History[edit]
Temperance Barrows was from Nantucket. She was asked by her children when their father, Captain Mordecai, would be home, as they were hungry and hadn't seen whale meat in a month. Then, Mordecai came through the door. After Marge changed Mordecai from a nice gentleman to a brute, Mordecai forced himself on Temperance, then showed the family that he had returned with only one seagull for food.
Later in the story, Temperance fell for Cyrus Manly, who was the complete opposite of her husband. Temperance and Cyrus went on a date where Temperance showed Cyrus her hair. At the end of the story, Mordecai killed Cyrus, and they both fell over a cliff while Temperance watched.
