Synopsis
- "To save Barney's Bowlarama from being turned into a hipster hangout, Marge has to beat Terrence in a game of bowling. Homer brings in her old coach, Jacques, to train her, not realizing that they have a history together. When Homer figures out that Jacques seduces his female students, he goes to confront the home wrecker."
Plot
Homer is watching Channel 6 News, which reports that Barney's Bowlarama is closing forever. Homer is shocked by this news and goes to Moe's Tavern to mourn it with his fellow Pin Pals. They then decide to try and do something about it and go to the Bowlarama to convince the owner not to close down. However, he says that he already sold the business to Terrence. Terrence tells the Pin Pals that he likes the retro look of the Bowlarama but doesn't like bowling, so he's going to turn it into a hipster hangout instead. Homer asks Terrence to give him one week to turn the business around and show that people enjoy bowling, to which he agrees.
At dinner, Homer complains about attendance barely being up and then asks Marge for help. Marge tells Homer that bowling is his thing and she doesn't do it. Marge then remembers the time she used to bowl with Jacques and tries to tell Homer about it, although he gets Marge to stop. Homer and Marge then go bowling, where Homer finds out that Marge is actually good at it. After Marge plays a great game, Terrence makes an offer to Marge: if she can beat a bowler that he chooses, the bowling alley will stay open. Marge accepts the offer and starts to prepare.
When practicing at the Bowlarama, Marge notices a picture of Jacques on the wall and starts bowling badly as a result. Homer decides that Marge needs a bowling coach and brings Jacques to train her. Jacques tells Marge that he doesn't want to help her in an attempt to get together with her, but only in a professional way. Jacques then begins training Marge, while also trying to seduce her. He tells Marge that the day she was supposed to go to him, he prepared himself to kiss her, but she never showed and he ended up kissing a delivery driver instead. While Grampa is watching Marge and Jacques together, he tells Homer that something is going on between them and starts looking into Jacques with the help of his friends.
Later, Grampa shows Homer Jacques' Facebook page, which has many pictures of him getting intimate with his female bowling students. Homer then goes to confront Jacques at his apartment in Fiesta Terrace and finds that the apartment is decorated with pictures of Marge everywhere. Homer and Jacques then begin to fight while Homer tries to find out how far he and Marge had gone. Marge then comes into the apartment and tells Homer that nothing happened between them and tells Homer about the time she and Jacques bowled together. Homer and Marge then leave the apartment together.
The day of the bowling match comes around and Terrence reveals that Marge's opponent will be Jacques. The two of them play a close game until Marge ends up winning by one point. As everyone celebrates, Jacques is arrested to be deported to Paris, as he was in the USA on an expired bowling visa. Terrence then agrees to keep one lane of the bowling alley open, with a three-month waiting list for its use. Homer then realizes that Marge does love him after all. When Marge asks if there was any doubt, the entire crowd responds with "yes!"
