Iowa is one of the 50 states in the US. The capital and largest city is Des Moines.

History

After getting run out of Florida, the Simpson family was trying to decide on where to go for their next vacation. They were looking at a map of the US that had most of states crossed out, which were apparently all the states that the Simpsons were no longer allowed to enter.[1]

Marge was reading The Bridges of Madison County.[2][3] The title and major part of the story are about the covered bridges of Madison County, Iowa with Roseman Bridge depicted on the book cover.
