Carl's dad is the father of Carl Carlson.
History
He discovered a set of caves, named Carl's Dad Caverns in 1956. Due to the fact this was only told in a story by Bart, it's likely that Carl's dad and the caverns are fictional. Carl's real biological father, Wyatt, was not known until much later.
Non-canon
He went missing in the caves several years ago.[1]
