Cultural references

• The episode title is a reference to the short story The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe.
• When Homer is choking on a button, he gestures to the album Days Are Gone by Haim in an attempt to tell Marge that he needs the Heimlich maneuver.
• At the Springie Awards, "The Four Seasons - Spring" by Antonio Vivaldi plays.
• Rainier Wolfcastle says "I'll be back" in a way similar to Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator. Wolfcastle was heavily based on Schwarzenegger.
• Duffman's opening remarks on Duff Lite (which has a blue label) is a reference to the 2023 Bud Light boycott.
• Trash for Cash is a parody of the show Bares für Rares.
