Cultural references
- The episode title is a reference to the short story "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe.
- Duffman's opening remarks on Duff Lite (which has a blue label) is a reference to the Bud Light controversy.
- Homer says "Will this show never end? Enough" to a picture of themself, referencing people that keep asking for the show to end in the real world. The picture has the text "We wouldn't be here without you. Love, Fox Network." under it.
- TFC's logo is a parody of AMC.
- Trash for Cash is a parody of the show Bares für Rares, The Bidding Room in United Kingdom, a show aired in different countries with the name Cash or Trash.
- Leevi's is a parody of Levi's.
- Neiman Mark-Up is a parody of Neiman Marcus.
- On the car rides, a parody of Elton John's "Levon" plays, sung by Elton John himself.
- The Amazing Spider-Pants #300 is a reference to the movie The Amazing Spider-Man.
- In The Haber-Cashery, a round clothing rack labeled Nehru Jackets is seeen, which were polarized by Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
- Marge mentions an offer for the pants for $3,000 on Ebay.
- One of Collectible Pants Dude's addictions are the films of Kenneth Anger.
- Mr. Burns and Smithers watch and comment the film Oppenheimer.
- Smithers never says the second movie's title that was released the same time as Oppenheimer to become a global phenomenon, but the movie is the Barbie movie. The movie also inspired Smithers to change his hair to "Barbie pink" although when he takes off his hat Mr. Burns believes Smithers is bleeding, but Smithers corrects him that it is only dye. Mr. Burns confused the homophones and tells Smithers to "die on his own time".
- Mr. Burns talks about "Tickling the dragon's tail", a reference to the Demon core, that actually later almost happened.
- Carl remarks it sounds like a DreamWorks film.

- Smithers is the world's biggest fan of the Malibu Stacy doll ("Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy", "Homer vs. Dignity") and Malibu Stacy is a thinly-veiled parody of the Barbie doll.
- The high-end stores at Springfield Glenne such as Neiman Mark-Up are seen. ("Dangers on a Train")
