Cultural references
- The episode title is a pun on the classic Henny Youngman one-liner, "Take my wife, please" which was also punned in the title of the Season 11 episode, "Take My Wife, Sleaze".
Trivia
- People spotted on the "Springfield Wall of Fame" are: Diamond Joe Quimby, Rainier Wolfcastle, C.M. Burns, The Springfield Strangler, Duffman, Krusty, Hank Scorpio, Troy McClure, Bumblebee Man, Bill and Marty, Artie Ziff, Sideshow Bob, Poochie, Mr. Teeny, Itchy and Scratchy, Drederick Tatum, Bleeding Gums Murphy, Paul Yield, Chazz Busby, Gabbo, Lurleen Lumpkin, Principal Skinner, El Barto, Homer Simpson, Butthead, Fat Tony, Plopper and Vance Connor.
- The food prices have gone down in the new HD-intro.
- The total is now $486.52 ($847.63 in the old intro).
- Maggie is worth $243.26, exactly as much as the other items put together.
- In the alternate Universe, Mr Burns assigns Homer to Sector 6F, as opposed to 7G. 7GXX was the production code for the show's first season. 6FXX was never the production code for any season, as after Season 9 (5FXX), the show started an entirely different sort of code from Season 10 onwards (AABFXX for Season 10, BABFXX for Season 11, CABFXX for Season 12, etc.)
- During the new HD title sequence, The Simpsons family has a HDTV. But during the episode, they still have the old TV set.
Goofs
- When everybody is clapping when Vance Connor is introduced to the Hall of Fame, you can see Maude Flanders in the crowd, despite the fact that she died in the Season 11 episode "Alone Again, Natura-Diddily".
- The position of Paul Yield's plaque changes between shots.
- It is shown that Smithers was already working for Mr. Burns when Homer went to high school, meaning that he is older than Homer. However, in "The Blunder Years", it is shown that he was a baby when Homer was 12 years old. On the other hand, in a flashback of "Bye Bye Nerdie", it was shown that both were studying together at the same time.
