- The episode name is a reference to a "Peeping tom", a name for a male voyeur.
- Ned Flanders' new dog is called Maher-shalal-hash-baz like the second mentioned son of the prophet Isaiah.
- Ah, Fudge! chocolate is a parody of real-world chocolate Oh Henry!.
- The North American Sumo League (NASL) is a parody of the former tournament North American Soccer League that was held until 2017.
- Groundskeeper Willie plays "Scotland the Brave", a traditional Scottish march.
