The scarlet tanager is a medium-sized American songbird and is classified as being in the cardinal family.
History[edit]
While being tracked by his family by means of a chip, Bart tied it to a scarlet tanager's leg. The Simpson family followed it to Machu Picchu, thinking it was Bart.[1]
When Bart tried to prank Seymour Skinner with recordings of Barack Obama's voice, a scarlet tanager flew in and ruined Bart's prank by pecking on keyboard buttons of the notebook, which Bart used to prank Seymour Skinner.[2]
