History[edit]
Homer was attacked by a bear at the Springfield City Dump. The experience traumatized him. Eventually, at his home, he imagined fictional bears, including Winnie the Pooh, Smokey the Bear, Snuggle the Fabric-Softener Bear, two large bears wearing Chicago Bears uniforms, Gummi Bears, Teddy Grahams, and Paddington Bear, marching towards him.[1]
A toy of Winnie-the-Pooh was seen in the Simpsons home at Waverly Hills.[2]
When Homer was reading Winnie the Pooh to Bart and Lisa, he read that Pooh had gotten his head stuck in a pot of honey. He then put himself into the story as Homer-the-Pooh. Homer managed to pull the pot of honey off Pooh's head. After he removed the pot, Pooh told Homer that he wished that he could repay him in honey, but that was the last pot. Homer then strangled Pooh.[3]
