Scene from Moby Dick is a painting that hangs behind the Simpsons Couch. According to Marge, it has a resemblance to Moby Dick.[2]
Contents

The painting was one of the items that was put up for sale at the Evergreen Terrace Rummage Sale.[3]
Apparently, Marge drew it herself, as she mused about her wasted talent in front of a disturbed Bart and Lisa.[4] However, Marge later thanks the painting and looks at its name, since she didn't know it, so it seems like she didn't really draw the painting.[5]
The family has a cupboard full of spare paintings. After Homer smashed one over his head, Marge got a new one out.[6]
Lisa's pet guinea pig Pokey destroyed the painting by poking through it after running out of its built habitat, leading Homer and Marge to take it down and replace it.[7] It is suggested that she has run out of spare paintings, as Homer later gets it replaced with a copy.

The same painting hangs on the wall at the home of Marge's Aunt Edith on Martha's Vineyard.[8]
Trivia[edit]
- According to one episode, a safe is behind the painting, although absent in later episodes. In the couch gag for the episode "Fatzcarraldo" it is present. In the episode "Barthood" you can see a young Lisa painting it and then it gets put up above the couch.
