Bart read Maggie what he claimed was the real story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In his version, Goldilocks broke into the Bears' house, sampled their porridge, tried their chairs and beds, and fell asleep in Kid Bear's bed. When the Bears returned, Kid Bear declared, "Hey, look, man—breakfast in bed!" and the Three Bears ate Goldilocks. Maggie burst into tears, prompting Bart to reassure her that it was only a story and not a "docudrama."[1]
When Homer was scared of bears, he was also scared of the books The Bear Went Over the Mountain, The Berenstain Bears and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.[2]
